Do I need council approval in NSW?

The simple answer is "NO" and this means that our units are a great long term solution to your housing needs, whilst remaining 100% relocatable to suit your future needs.

When our units are coupled with one of our custom built registerable trailers the relocatable home is classified as a caravan.

Across NSW, thanks to the Local Government (Manufactured Home Estates, Caravan Parks, Camping Grounds and Moveable Dwellings - Regulation 2021, specifically Section 77) you are allowed to place a caravan on your property without a Development Application if:

That said, we always recommend doing your own research and speaking with your local council especially when it comes to connecting services like water or sewer.

Making those checks will help you ensure, you are satisfied that the product is the right fit for your needs and location.

Please note that our relocatable homes are not classified as category 1A permanent dwellings.

What about council approval outside of NSW?

NSW is currently the only state which has the blanket legislation for caravan usage full time. However, in most states and council areas you do not need a permit to have a caravan on your property and hence when coupled with a trailer our units are a great accommodation or extra space solution for your family's needs.

The number of nights annually the caravan can be used for will vary from council to council and hence we suggest you research and understand the local guidelines applicable to your area.

However please remember the onus of proof for time usage will rest with the council, so a high degree of flexibility
is therefore available to you.

When it comes to connecting services like water or sewer, some permits may be required, so please check the product is the right fit for your needs and location.
